Artist Statement: The process by which our sins and transgressions are covered are by Christ's blood. On Good Friday He bled for us, not becuase he was being punished for our sins, or because he was a replacement for our sins, but becuase He wanted to become an Advocate for us. He wanted to feel our sorrrows, our pain, our sicknesses, our afflictions, our temptations--all with the intent to run to us when we seek after him, his bowels filled with mercy that he knows on a personal level. His blood covers us to make us white and clean. This piece is to show the stark contrast between His blood and His purity. Both play a role on Good Friday to show us the Greatest Act of Love.
